The beginnings of Circlesound weren’t exactly your most conventional of meetings. Singer Dave Lloyd and Drummer Bernie McCarthy happened to be on a river raft, dressed as spacemen, throwing cow shit at each other.Bernie, and guitarist Luke, persuaded Dave to help them form a band that would define a generation. The jigsaw was finally completed with the enlisting of Chris on bass.The band have drawn from a myriad of influences and are proud of the fact that no one has quite pinned down their sound yet.Manchester’s City Life magazine say “guitars jangle with the intelligent restraint of Johnny Marr” whilst others have used 80’s legend, The Cult, as their chosen reference. As well as winning Xfm’s X-posure un-signed, the band have also recently been asked to feature on the forthcoming free CD with UV Magazine. With a distribution of over 30,000, its looks as though Circlesound won’t be staying Britains best kept secret much longer.
