I’ve been influenced a lot by a couple of bands. The Foo Fighters and Jerry Cantrell

I can also play the piano and the drums (a bit) but mainly I sit and twiddle on my guitar and sing along. I like singing Pearl Jam and Live, but am sadly not really good enough to play a lot of either of their tracks

What’s slightly annoying is that when I start writing music I want it to sound like heavy rock, kind of like Metallica or Alice in Chains, but I invariably end up sounding more like Oasis. Not necessarily bad but not really what I want!
I started playing the piano when I was thirteen, one of my brothers showed me how to work out chords from root notes.

I got an acoustic guitar for my 17th birthday. It took me a while to translate my piano knowledge to the guitar but after a bit I seemed to be able to make things sound a bit like they do on CD.

The bands that were big then included Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, etc. so this is what I started playing.

I sang with a band in school but didn’t have any kit to play with. Thankfully one of my brothers (a different one) bought me a little practice amp and an Aria Pro II for Christmas when I was 18 so I was able to get that enormous feedback and overdrive I wanted.
